The ingredients needed to make Coconut chutney:
  1. Prepare 1 cup Coconut bits -
  2. Make ready Roasted gram dal - 1/2 cup
  3. Prepare 3 pods Garlic -
  4. Get Tamarind - 1 gooseberry size
  5. Get 2 tsp Salt -
  6. Prepare Water - 2 tbsp (as required)
  7. Take 2 tsp Oil -
  8. Take 1 tsp Mustard seeds -
  9. Make ready 1 tsp Urad dal -
  10. Prepare Curry leaves - 1 string
Instructions to make Coconut chutney:
  1. In a mixer jar put the fresh coconut bits, roasted gram dal, garlic, tamarind salt and water. Grind them well.
  2. In a tempering pan add oil, when hot add mustard seeds, urad dal, curry leaves and when it splutters add it the grinded coconut mixture.
  3. Mix well and serve with idly, dosa, pongal, vada etc…
