I always prep and cook the chili the night before and then reheat the next day. This is a combination of many different tomato-based chili recipes. Cincinnati-Style Chili: Prepare as above, except omit sweet pepper, basil, and optional garnishes. Place the ground beef in a large pot and throw in the garlic.

  4. If using a crockpot - add meat, peppers, onions, beans, tomatos, and tomato sauce to slow cooker. Mix together. - - Set on high for 4 hours or low 6-8 hours.
  5. If making this stove top - add meat, drained beans, canned tomato, and tomato sauce. - - Bring to a boil, then cover and lower to a simmer for 1.5-2 hours
  6. Serve with shredded cheese, sour cream, scallions, or whatever you prefer. Enjoy!
