The ingredients needed to make Zeera Rice:
- Prepare 2 cups Basmati Rice
- Take 1 tsp Salt or to taste
- Get 2 tbsp Ghee
- Get 1 Bay Leaf
- Prepare 1 Onion finely chopped small
- Get 1 tbsp Cumin Seeds
- Prepare 4-5 Cloves
- Prepare 2 Sprigs Curry Leaves

- Heat Ghee in a cooking pot and add Cumin Seeds at first. Now add Cloves, Curry Leaves, Bay Leaf and chopped Onion. Saute these on a low heat until they are translucent.
- Now add soaked and drained Basmati Rice to the pot. Saute it for a good 5 minutes on a low heat. Keep stirring it. And then finally add hot water accordingly. Adjust Salt and simmer on a low heat. Do not open the lid often.
- After the stipulated time, do not open the lid all of a sudden. Wait for about 5 minutes before opening it. Serve it piping hot with any side dish of your choice at Lunchtime. Enjoy!
