The ingredients needed to make Zeera Rice:
- Get 1 cup rice
- Take 2 1/2 cup water for cooking
- Get 1 tbsp Ghee
- Get 1 bay leaf
- Take 3-4 cloves
- Prepare 1/4 cinnamon powder
- Prepare 1 tsp cumin seeds (zeera)
- Take 1 green chilli chopped finely
- Take as needed Salt
- Get 2 tbsp chopped coriander to garnish
Steps to make Zeera Rice:
- Wash,clean and soak the 1 cup rice for 30 minutes. Drain the water and spread on a kitchen towel. - - Heat ghee in a pan and add whole spices along with zeera seeds and cinnamon powder.
- Once the zeera seeds start spluttering add chopped green chilli and drained rice to the pan. - - Saute the rice in the pan for 2-3 minutes. Add 2 and 1/4 cups of water and salt and mix well. - - Bring to boil in high heat and then reduce the heat, cover and for 5-6 minutes till the water is evaporated and rice is cooked. - Serve hot after garnish. - Thanks
