The ingredients needed to make Jeera rice:
  1. Get 1 bowl rice
  2. Take 1 tsp cumin seeds
  3. Take 2 tbsp Ginger garlic paste
  4. Prepare 1 tomato
  5. Make ready 1 cardamom stick
  6. Get 8-10 black pepper seeds
  7. Get 6 cloves(loung)
  8. Make ready as needed Bay leaves
  9. Make ready to taste Salt
  10. Prepare To taste Red chilli powder
  11. Make ready 1/2 tsp Garam masala
  12. Prepare 2 tbsp Cooking Oil
  13. Take as needed water
Steps to make Jeera rice:
  1. Wash and Soak rice for 1/2 an hour.
  2. Heat oil in a pressure cooker add cumin seeds and when cumin seeds splutter add ginger garlic paste and cook for 2 minutes.
  3. Grate tomato and add in this mixture and sauté. Add salt, turmeric powder, garam masala and rice and stir thoroughly. Mix cardamom, loung and black pepper seeds.
  4. Stir the mixture and add 1 and 1/2 bowl water and stir. Place the lid and pressure cook till first whistle. Switch off the flame.
  5. Allow the pressure to release naturally.
  6. Serve hot with pickle and salad
